My husband says all the time “I wish I could bottle this peace and contentment and give it to people”
Wouldn’t that be amazing if we could just walk into the store and buy a jar of peace? What if you could wrap up joy and give it as a gift? You make a one time purchase and it lasts forever! No need to keep buying it every week! Do you need a drama free zone in your home? That could be available too.
The compassion in our hearts draws us to feel sadness for those who thrive on drama. Hurting and praying for those who are stuck in sorrow.
My husband usually follows the previous statement with “It’s so easy, but people can’t understand.”
The truth is, we can walk into a store and purchase the gift of peace and contentment. We can give the gift of joy and peace and it does last forever. It is the Bible. The Word of God. Everything we need to “find ourselves”, to live in peace, contentment and joy are all found in the Word of God. It is as simple as opening a book and reading. If you don’t have money for a bible, it is free to call upon the name of Jesus.
Fear stops many people from calling out to God. Fear stops people from making the choice to follow God’s word and get close to Him.
It is hard to face the truth in our lives. When we start to study God’s word, we start to see truth. We want to hide the ugly parts and blame others for our problems. If we stay in darkness, it is easy to say “I can’t help how I am!” In reality, we can help how we are! It is a clear choice. We can’t help what others choose to do; but we can decide how we respond. We have free will to choose.
Fear of what others think of us snares out feet too. It binds and controls our emotions and choices. We should only worry about what God thinks of us and be driven to do and say things that bring Him honor and glory. Trusting in Him brings peace and contentment.
Jesus paid the price for is all. It is free to call upon the name of Jesus. It costs nothing to share Jesus with others. It is free to pray whenever you want. Jesus paid the way!
